Fae Rite Serum (2020)

Stop Motion Puppet and Butoh Dance hybrid film with animator and puppeteer Omer Gal, produced in residency at The Lookout Arts Quarry in Bellingham, WA.

Fae Rite Serum is an intermedial artistic collaboration with that investigates forces and thresholds between materiality and immateriality, duration and sacrifice, stillness and animation through film by putting affectively charged objects and Stop Motion Animation in dialogue with the live body and compressing slow and suspended butoh-based movement further into film constructs of time at 30 frames per second.

Les Femmes Underground International film festival features films from over 30 different countries ranging in genres from Documentary, Experimental, Narrative, Horror, Female Sexuality, and our own concoction Psychotropic. Their programming digs into the esoteric realms, of witchcraft and feminism…merging occult ideology and notions of the phrase, “witch” as a way to indoctrinate equality, independence, and empowerment.
